Liquid Cooling is Anticipated for the iPhone 17 Pro.

Rumour has it that the iPhone 17 series, which will replace the iPhone 16 lineup, is currently under development. In recent months, there have been rumours that the alleged phones may incorporate liquid cooling, a crucial new technology for controlling thermals. This feature, which could keep the phone cool under pressure, is absent from the iPhone 16 series. According to a recent report, this technology may only be available on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, despite conflicting reports about its availability on the iPhone 17 series.

Models of iPhone 17 Pro with Liquid Cooling
Tipster Instant Digital (translated from Chinese) indicated that the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max would dissipate heat through a “steam cavity” in a post on the Chinese social media site Weibo. This basically translates into liquid cooling through the use of a vapour chamber.

The tipster claims that both new iPhone models would make use of this technology in order to enhance the A19 Pro SoC’s thermal management, which is anticipated to power the devices. It is thought to enhance performance under high load. Notably, a graphene sheet is incorporated into Apple’s current flagship models, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, to control heat and avoid overheating.

This data supports earlier assertions made by a number of tipsters. Although it was initially believed that the vapour chamber heat sink was exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it was first made public by TF International Security Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last year. Chinese publication MyDrivers later leaked information that refuted Kuo’s assertions, claiming that liquid cooling would instead be available on all iPhone 17 models.

It’s important to remember that the iPhone 17 series won’t be released for some months, so it’s best to treat these leaks with caution. In the months before their release, more information regarding the phones is probably going to come to light.
