WhatsApp may soon Allow Users to Turn Off Their Cameras.

According to a recent rumour, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that could give Android users more options when it comes to answering video calls. According to reports, the instant messaging service is testing a new feature that allows users to switch off their device’s camera before answering a video call. According to reports, an APK deconstruction of a beta version of WhatsApp led to the discovery of the in-development functionality.

Disabling the Camera Before Making a WhatsApp Video Call
After an APK teardown of the WhatsApp beta app for Android 2.25.7.3, Android Authority noticed the functionality. The publisher was able to activate the feature by tinkering with the software, but it is now not accessible to the general public. It reportedly provides a choice known as When the recipient receives a video call, turn off your video so they can turn it off before answering. According to reports, the call will be received in voice-only mode.

The app might also provide another Accept without video prompt as a confirmation if the camera is already off. According to the article, WhatsApp users will be able to select the Turn on your video option to activate the camera halfway during a call.

WhatsApp does not yet have a comparable feature. During a video call, users can still switch off their video feed, but only after picking it up. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the feature under development will offer features that are not all that distinct from those of Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and other video-conferencing systems.

Additional WhatsApp Features Under Development
According to earlier reports, the instant messaging app is working on a number of new features for Android users. A UPI Lite feature is one of the rumoured changes, which is thought to streamline the payment process by allowing users to complete transactions without entering their PIN.

In the meantime, Meta AI, WhatsApp’s conversational artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, might soon get a new UI. According to reports, it provides customers with rapid suggestions and an automated voice mode to get them started.
