Since the iPhone 16e, Apple’s most recent entry-level model, was released, attention has turned to the flagship iPhone 17 lineup, which is expected to make its debut later this year. A seasoned journalist has claimed that Apple is working to enhance the iPhone 17 Pro models’ camera capabilities, but it will go beyond still photography. This time around, the Cupertino-based tech company is also anticipated to focus on advancements in video recording.
Better Video Capabilities on iPhone 17 Pro Models
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman emphasised Apple’s aspirations for its iPhone 17 Pro models to become the preferred video recording devices for vloggers and other video content creators in the most recent edition of the Power On newsletter. According to reports, the company will provide a “significant” upgrade, particularly with the top-tier Pro models, emphasising the improvement of video recording capabilities.
Gurman claims that Apple wants to ensure that its iPhone 17 Pro models take the place of independent cameras for artists. When the iPhone 17 series debuts in September, the company is expected to promote these enhancements during the keynote address.
Although exact specifications are still unknown, prior rumours indicate Apple will upgrade the 12-megapixel telephoto camera found on the iPhone 16 Pro models to a 48-megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Additionally, instead of the 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera found on the current lineup, the phones might have a 24-megapixel selfie camera.
The smartphones may also see a significant redesign, according to recently leaked renders, with the Pro models possibly incorporating dual-toned rear panels and a Pixel-style camera arrangement.
It’s important to remember that the iPhone 17 series won’t be released for several months, so it’s best to treat these leaks with caution. In the months before their release, more information about the phones is probably going to come to light.
