According to reports, Apple is getting ready to release its upcoming MacBook Air model, which is anticipated to come with the M4 chip. Along with supporting Apple Intelligence features, it is anticipated to come in two display sizes and replace the MacBook Air M3, which was released in March 2024. Last October, Apple unveiled a new MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips in addition to new Mac Mini and iMac models that also featured its M4 chipset.
Launch Schedule for the MacBook Air M4 (Anticipated)
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who cites sources, Apple plans to release its newest MacBook Air models with an M4 chip in March. According to the most recent edition of the journalist’s Power On newsletter, the company is preparing its employees for the launch of the new model and is anticipated to update the 13-inch and 15-inch models of its MacBook Air M3 with a new chip.
Gurman leaked details of the alleged MacBook Air M4 last October, and it is anticipated that the more potent M4 processor will be the primary upgrade over the entry-level MacBook model. According to reports, the 13-inch and 15-inch models are codenamed J713 and J715.
It’s currently unknown what improvements Apple will make to the MacBook Air M4 models aside from the chipset upgrade. A Thunderbolt 4 port, an improvement over the Thunderbolt 3 port on the predecessor, could be installed on the laptops by the company.
Although the MacBook Air M4 is anticipated to have the same Liquid Retina screen, it’s important to keep in mind that Apple may release a version similar to the MacBook Pro (M4, 2024) model with a nano-texture finish for a more reliable viewing experience.
Only two additional Mac computers will require an update to the company’s most recent chipset if the launch date for the MacBook Air M4 is correct. According to reports, the company is developing a new Mac Studio code-named J575, which may be released in March or June.
