Manchester United fans have quickly come up with a catchy new chant for their new head coach, Ruben Amorim, just after his first match at the helm.
The simple song, set to the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band’s “Give it Up”, goes: “Ruben Amorim, Amorim, Ruben Amorim.” It certainly does the job, and Amorim acknowledged the fans’ support when they sang it to him after United’s 1-1 draw at Ipswich.
However, while the song may be catching on fast, Amorim made it clear that United fans hoping for an immediate turnaround after Erik ten Hag’s turbulent tenure will likely be disappointed. He emphasized that the club’s problems won’t resolve overnight
In a candid reflection on his first game, Amorim stated that the team would need to “suffer” as he begins to implement his ideas. He noted that while the fans’ frustration is understandable, the changes he’s making will take time. “We’re changing a lot right now, with a lot of games, and we’re going to suffer for a while,” he said. “We will try to win, but it will take time. If we don’t take risks now, we’ll be facing the same problems next year.”
