Tinubu, wife leave for three-day state visit in France Wednesday

President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for a three-day state visit to France on Wednesday.

The visit is “in honour of an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron,” Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tuesday.

‘President Tinubu honours invitation for a state visit to France.’

“The Nigerian leader’s three-day visit, which will strengthen political, economic, and cultural relations and create more partnership opportunities in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement and employment, innovation, and energy transition, promises significant benefits for Nigeria.”

Macron and Brigitte will greet Tinubu and his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, at the 350-year-old French military museum, Les Invalides and Palais de l’Élysée, on Thursday for first ceremonies and bilateral discussions.

Tinubu and Macron will agree to promote youth skill development exchange programs in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership during the visit.

Onanuga said both leaders will meet politically and diplomatically to discuss finance, solid minerals, commerce and investments, and communication.

The France-Nigeria Business Council, which monitors private sector economic growth, will also meet.

Brigitte and Nigeria’s First Lady will address the Renewed Hope Initiative’s mission to empower women, children, and the most vulnerable.

The French leader will entertain Tinubu and his wife at a state supper before their departure.

“Top government officials will accompany President Tinubu on the trip,” said the Presidency.
