Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved free bus services through the Edo City Transport Service for residents across the state.
This initiative, detailed in a press release by Chief Press Secretary Fred Itua on Tuesday, aligns with the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of Edo citizens. The free bus service will operate in Benin City and across the state’s three senatorial districts, covering both intercity and intracity routes.
According to the statement, the program aims to alleviate transportation challenges and reduce financial burdens for residents traveling within and outside Benin City. The service will extend to areas in Edo Central, including Ekpoma, Iruekpen, Irrua, and Uromi.
Similarly, Edo North will benefit from the initiative, with routes covering Agbede, Auchi, Okpella, Fugar, and neighboring communities. Governor Okpebholo’s free transit program reflects his administration’s focus on enhancing accessibility and easing the daily lives of Edo residents.
