In Delta, 98 PAP delegates finish their maritime training.

At the Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies in Otomewo, Delta State, 98 maritime delegates successfully completed a one-month refresher course in specialist maritime skills under the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP).

On Wednesday, PAP Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro, through his Special Assistant on Media, Igoniko Oduma, announced the development. The graduation ceremony, held on Tuesday, marked the conclusion of the practical training, which was specifically designed to equip the delegates for roles in the maritime industry.

During the event, Otuaro described the program as a vital part of PAP’s strategy for developing manpower in the Niger Delta. Furthermore, he emphasized its alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s blue economy initiative and highlighted its significance in fostering both regional and national economic growth. Otuaro commended the cadets for their discipline and professionalism throughout the course, while also promising further training and empowerment opportunities to sustain peace and development in the Niger Delta.

Additionally, Akpos Epidei, Managing Director of Joemarine Institute, thanked Otuaro for trusting the institute to deliver the program and proposed advanced certification courses to enhance the cadets’ expertise. Meanwhile, representing Delta State House Speaker Emomotimi Guwor, Amafini Akemeotubo praised Otuaro for realigning PAP to better serve the people of the region.

Finally, valedictorian Ebi Jackson expressed gratitude for the training, noting how it had significantly improved their skills and readiness for maritime careers.
