Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has pledged government support for indigenous technology companies through collaborative efforts.
During his visit to the Imose Technologies smartphone and tablet assembly factory in Lagos, Tijani expressed satisfaction with the facility.
He emphasized that understanding the operations of companies like Imose would help the Ministry identify the best ways to support local enterprises to scale up.
“We need companies that can truly build solutions for our people. In the digital economy, we cannot achieve our goals without local firms.
He highlighted the importance of supporting indigenous companies to fully manufacture devices locally, making technology more affordable and accessible. “This is why we need companies like Imose Technologies to understand their challenges and determine how we can assist them in manufacturing devices in Nigeria,” he added.
Tijani outlined the government’s intent to collaborate with local firms to boost manufacturing. “There are multiple avenues for collaboration. Every sector has a complete supply chain and value chain through which products are created and consumed. The government cannot leave everything to private companies. There must be collaboration, and we need to ensure our regulations are conducive for local companies to develop and manufacture products,” he explained.
Commending Imose Technologies for their efforts in local manufacturing and assembly, Tijani promised government support to help reduce production costs and make these products more accessible to Nigerians.
