“No More Scarcity”: Otedola Celebrates NNPC Lifting Dangote Refinery Petrol

After Dangote Refinery began petrol refining, billionaire businessman and Geregu Power chairman Femi Otedola stated fuel waits caused by shortages were ended.

Otedola thanked President Bola Tinubu for making the dream a reality, saying filling station lines would end.

Fuel lines end, says Otedola

He stated:

Thanks to President Bola Tinubu for making this happen! Dangote Refinery begins loading PMS on Sunday, September 15, 2024, eliminating fuel lines.

FBN Holdings Plc chairman Otedola called Tinubu’s backing for the Dangote Refinery innovative.

The businessman said on X that the refinery’s success was due to the president’s assistance.

I want to start by congratulating President Bola Tinubu for his constant support and confidence in achieving this momentous milestone under his government.

“This day belongs to every Nigerian who dreams of a better future. Congratulations to our beautiful nation—we all stand higher today, Otedola said.

Petrol pricing dispute between Dangote Refinery and NNPC

Otedola’s remark comes amid a developing dispute between Dangote Refinery and the NNPC over fuel price.

At N898 a litre, the Dangote Refinery denied selling fuel to the NNPC and claimed their product was cheaper than imported petrol.

However, the NNPC produced a nationwide fuel price list, claiming to have acquired the commodity from the Dangote Refinery for N989 per litre and would sell it for N950–N1,050 per litre.

On Sunday, September 15, 2024, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) lifted fuel from the Dangote Refinery.

The minister, who saw Dangote’s fuel lifting, complimented Aliko Dangote and his staff.
