2025 Launch of Apple Watch Ultra 3, Third-Generation SE: Ming-Chi Kuo
Apple’s ‘It’s Glowtime’ launch event on September 9 introduced Apple Watch Series 10, but not a Watch Ultra 2 replacement. Last October, TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo correctly predicted that Apple won’t debut the Apple Watch Ultra 3 in 2024. Apple Watch SE hasn’t been updated either. The expert has proposed a smartwatch debut date.
Kuo said on X (previously Twitter) that Apple would release the Watch Ultra 3 in 2025. The expert predicts an upgrade to the Apple Watch SE (2nd Generation) three years after its release.
Kuo’s newest prediction is that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and third-generation Apple Watch SE would appear in the third quarter of 2025, when Apple usually releases new smartwatch and smartphone models. They might launch alongside the iPhone 17 series, which will replace Apple’s iPhone 16.
The analyst anticipated that Apple will not release a Watch Ultra 2 replacement in October 2023, saying that it had not begun development. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman likewise changed his estimate hours before the launch event on Monday, predicting simply a new Watch Ultra 2 color.
Kuo claimed that without a new Apple Watch Ultra model in 2024, flagship watch sales might decrease by 30% year-over-year and overall Apple Watch shipments could drop by 10%.
