PDP Governors Seek to Remove Acting National Chair Damagum in Wike vs. Fubara Match.
Senator Bala Muhammad, the governor of Bauchi State and head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, plans to move the national chairmanship back to the North Central area, implying that Umar Damagum will face ousting.
Following the PDP National Working Committee members’ visit to his state on Tuesday, September 17, the governor made this announcement at a press conference.
Why the PDP chairman need to be fired
Governor Muhammad stressed that the interim national chairman from the North East represents a “constitutional aberration” and that the area that held the post before should replace him with a native.
He is therefore dedicated to collaborating with the chairman and other party members to ensure that North Central secures this position, which he strongly believes it has long earned.

PDP governors reiterate their support for Fubara

Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who has threatened to “set fire” to states held by PDP governors that change the party’s structure in Rivers State, expressed dissatisfaction with this move.
“Nobody can set fire to Bauchi because we have a volume of water to quench it,” Bala said with assurance.
The party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), chaired by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, recently met with Wike to discuss the issues dividing him and Fubara. Furthermore, the BoT has already convinced Fubara to remain in the party and is now actively working to resolve the differences between the two leaders.
