WhatsApp for Android Testing Double-Tap Message Reactions
WhatsApp’s latest feature may speed up message replies by double-tapping.
A feature tracker reports WhatsApp for Android is testing a gesture function to speed up message responses. This feature may let users quickly reply to messages by double-tapping them with a predefined emoji. It builds on a previously reported in-development feature that may allow users to instantly respond to photographs and videos from the media viewer panel.
WhatsApp Responses
WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo found the capability for swiftly responding to messages in WhatsApp for Android beta app version 2.24.16.7. Double-tapping messages may allow consumers to respond fast after its release. According to the feature tracker, replying to messages displays a default “heart emoji,” like Instagram and Facebook.
It may speed up message responses. Users may double-tap to pick the “heart” emoji instead than tapping and holding.
The feature tracker says the double-tap message response option is under development and only accessible to beta testers. Those using the newest WhatsApp for Android beta via Google Play Beta may only be able to access it.
The Android beta app’s WhatsApp availability was unknown to Gadgets 360 team.
Other Features
WhatsApp is also exploring live voice transcription and real-time translation in addition to speedy message responses. Meta AI, the instant messaging platform’s AI chatbot, is also receiving language support, Imagine Edit, and Imagine Me.
It also allows users to experience the Llama 3.1 405B, its newest AI model. Meta claims their AI model can handle difficult questions and sophisticated arithmetic problems better.
