The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has formally introduced Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) at a meeting in Abuja.
This appointment follows Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein’s mandatory pre-retirement leave as the outgoing AGF, in line with Public Service Rules.
Akume reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to accountability, probity, and transparency in public financial management. He highlighted the critical role of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) in executing fiscal policies and supporting the administration’s economic reform agenda.
The SGF praised Ogunjimi’s appointment, noting his extensive experience and qualifications, making him well-suited to lead the nation’s treasury during this transitional period.
Akume also emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s focus on financial integrity and efficiency, values that Ogunjimi’s proven record in public financial management will uphold.
