Nwafor Orizu College of Education Graduates Shine in the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition
Nwafor Orizu College of Education has made headlines with the remarkable achievements of its graduates in the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition.
Esomnofu Chidiebube, a Mathematics graduate and renowned online educator, gained widespread recognition for his exceptional efforts in combating mathematics phobia among young learners.
With a significant following, he has become the most followed African online tutor. During the unveiling ceremony for the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year award, held at Eko Hotel and Suites on October 11, 2024, Esomnofu was announced as the winner among ten finalists.
He received a cheque of ten million naira (₦10,000,000) to support his continued contributions to education.
Chinenye Augustina Nwosu, a Biology teacher at Anthony Obaze Memorial Community High School in Ochuche-Umuodu, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra, also made a significant impact.
A graduate of the Biology Department at Nwafor Orizu College of Education (Class of 2018), she was one of the Top 11 Finalists and proudly represented the South-East region.
Chinenye emerged as the Anambra State Champion in the Maltina Teacher of the Year 2024 competition.
She is the wife of Comr. Joseph Afamuefuna Nwosu, the current Presidential Award Winner of the Star Prize Best Teacher in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2024.
Joseph, a first-class graduate of the Physics Department from Nwafor Orizu College (Class of 2014), was also a state champion and a Top 10 finalist of the Maltina Award in 2021.
