Vodafone Group Plc has announced a 10-year partnership with Alphabet Inc.’s Google to deliver advanced cloud services, generative artificial intelligence tools, and enhanced cybersecurity features to customers across Africa and Europe.
This agreement represents a significant move towards integrating AI technologies into Vodafone’s offerings, enhancing digital experiences and operational efficiency.
Vodafone Group’s chief executive, Margherita Della Valle, stated, “Together, Vodafone and Google will put new AI-powered content and devices into the hands of millions of consumers.
A key aspect of the collaboration is Vodafone’s promotion of Google’s AI-powered Pixel devices, supported by its 5G network in Europe.
This initiative will expand customer access to AI-driven devices, as Vodafone continues to support the Android ecosystem alongside Google’s products.
Starting in 2025, Vodafone will introduce Google One AI Premium subscription plans in select countries, featuring Gemini Advanced, Google’s generative AI platform.
These tools, which encompass visual, text, and audio AI capabilities, reflect a broader trend as tech giants like Google, Apple, and Samsung compete to embed advanced AI features into their devices.
