Elon Musk has made several imprudent statements throughout the years. One of his most foolish assertions is that he intends to assist humanity in colonizing Mars in the near future. In addition to being an unnecessary and possibly futile pursuit, the effective terraforming and colonization of Mars is unlikely to occur in the near future due to significant financial and logistical challenges.
Musk, a calculated promoter of illusory products, often disseminates grandiose claims that naive supporters see as impressive, however he often fails to realize the objectives he professes to achieve. Musk has said that he is reluctant to pursue Mars colonization due to his fear of death.
Elon Musk now cites presidential hopeful Kamala Harris as his new rationale for not travelling to Mars. Musk, who has actively supported the re-election of former President Donald Trump, said on Wednesday that if Trump doesn’t win the presidency, people will abandon ambitions for Mars. Musk said on X on Wednesday, “Trump endorses a government efficiency commission to facilitate significant achievements, whereas Kamala does not. We will never reach Mars if Kamala prevails.”
I will attribute this to resentment stemming from Tuesday’s presidential debate. Supporters of MAGA have been reacting negatively to the debate outcomes, and the reasons for this are apparent. Harris decisively defeated Trump yesterday, and the outcome was not even quite close. Harris was articulate and incisive, but Trump meandered, fabricated, and made bizarre statements such as, “They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats!”, alluding to the widespread right-wing misinformation on immigrants allegedly devouring pets in an Ohio suburb.
Compounding Trump’s difficulties, Taylor Swift used yesterday’s debate to back Harris. “Similar to many of you, I observed the debate this evening.” “If you have not yet done so, now is an opportune moment to conduct research on the pertinent issues and the positions these candidates adopt regarding the topics that are most significant to you,” Swift said on Instagram. “As a voter, I diligently observe and review all available information regarding their proposed policies and strategies for the nation.” Significantly, she did not use Elon Musk’s X to convey her declaration.
