Arkham Research Says WazirX Hacker Moves Millions of ETH with Tornado Cash

Since July’s theft, the mysterious WazirX hacker has moved stolen cash. Arkham Research found the hacker utilizing the questionable Tornado Cash platform. After stealing over $230 million (Rs. 1,900 crore), the hacker shifted $6.5 million (Rs. 54.5 crore) worth of Ether tokens into Tornado Cash, a US-sanctioned platform.

Tornado Cash allows users deposit crypto tokens into a pool and transfer money to their wallet in other cryptocurrencies. In recent years, cyber criminals have used Tornado Cash to move illegal payments without leaving a trace.

Arkham data reveals the hacker completed 26 transactions to send the cash into a Tornado Cash location. Furthermore, Etherscan data indicated that the hacker transferred ETH 100 each transaction. These information have been screenshot on social media.
