Samsung confirms Exynos 2500 SoC to ensure stable supply for ‘Flagship Products’
Exynos 2500 may power the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in certain locations.
During a Thursday results call, Samsung announced the Exynos 2500, their future mobile chipset. Companies said Samsung System’s large-scale integration (LSI) division will create the chipset. The South Korean technology company wants to keep its “flagship products” supplied with Exynos 2500 SoC in the second half of the year.
Exynos 2500 SoC Details
Samsung claims the Exynos 2500 will feature a 3-nanometer processor. It will use the company’s Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor design to boost performance by 23% and cut power consumption by 45%. It stressed the necessity for a consistent supply of this chipset for its “flagship products” in 2H 2024 without naming any devices.
The Exynos 2500 SoC may power the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in certain markets. Samsung utilizes Qualcomm’s SoCs in certain markets and its own chipsets in others. The Indian Galaxy S24 has the Exynos 2400 SoC, whereas the Ultra had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Samsung.
Samsung pledged to deliver its own chipset and increase the use of 200-megapixel picture sensors in smartphone cameras from broad to telephoto.
Samsung’s 2H 2024 Plans
The firm reported quarter-on-quarter mobile market growth during the results call. Strong demand for its flagship devices, timely product delivery, and rigid panel sales were cited as the main reasons.
It forecasts bulk smartphone sales to drop in the second half of 2024, while luxury smartphone sales will surge. It intends to boost income by selling flagship smartphones and ecosystem items. Samsung stated its marketing efforts are helping the Galaxy S24 series retain its rise.
