The internet giant’s latest policy entails fast eliminating blatant deepfakes and demoting websites that host them to lower their search rankings. The business also said it simplified specific deepfake removal requests. These modifications attempt to deter unscrupulous actors from creating damaging material using AI.
Search Google to Remove Deepfakes
In response to explicit deepfakes, Google revealed additional modifications in a blog post. Cybercriminals are using AI picture and video generating technologies to create and post phony sexual information about people. Popular figures like celebrities and social media influencers are targeted by deepfakes.
Google modified its content removal mechanism to reflect the danger. Google will take extra efforts to remove deepfakes depicting them from Search after a successful request. Search will also filter explicit results on comparable searches on the person and erase any picture copies, the business stated. It will be removed from Google Search ranks and not shown on the SERP.
