OnePlus Buds Update May Allow AI-Powered Call Summarization

According to a rumor, OnePlus Buds, the company’s truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones, may soon get additional features thanks to AI. TWS earphones will allow AI-powered call summarization. A device companion app APK teardown purportedly revealed it. This feature may make accessing it faster during phone conversations.

Android Authority and X (previously @AssembleDebug) found the functionality in an APK deconstruction of OnePlus Buds version 14.8.2 for Android devices. The publication seems to have enabled the user interface for the earbud-based call summarization capability.
A screenshot from the magazine implies the function may be called “AI Call Assistant.” Pressing the OnePlus Buds stem three times may toggle it. According to the article, only OnePlus phones with AI summary feature may use TWS earphones to operate it.
The article says the smartphone’s super power saving mode, meditation mode, or children’s space prevents AI call summarization. Users may activate call summarisation to see conversation details like time and location even when their phone isn’t nearby.
Over the last several months, OnePlus has added various AI capabilities to its devices. OnePlus Nord 4 included camera-focused AI Eraser 2.0, AI Smart Cutout 2.0, and AI Clear Face, along with AI Toolbox features like AI Speak, Recording Summary, and AI Link increase.
