According to reports, the gameplay video matches the June Summer Game Fest demo. Astro Bot releases exclusively on PS5 on September 6.
Gameplay
VGC said that A9VG filmed off-screen Astro Bot gaming at the ChinaJoy digital entertainment conference in Shanghai.
Over eight minutes of off-screen Astro Bot gameplay demonstrate platforming fundamentals and Astro’s skills. The clip also shows Astro flying across a galaxy and fighting a big octopus enemy, reminiscent to Super Mario Odyssey boss battles.
Astro Bot is a successor to Astro’s Playroom, the free-to-play platformer pre-installed in every PS5 that showcases the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adjustable trigger.
The sequel, created by Team Asobi, will be a larger space adventure platformer than Astro’s Playroom. Astro Bot lets players chase Astro’s crew across six galaxies and 80 stages.
The game will include different landscapes and new Astro abilities to defeat new adversaries and gigantic monsters. Astro Bot will have DualSense controllers for more immersion.
PlayStation5-exclusive Astro Bot launches September 6. Pre-orders are now open. Non-free Astro’s Playroom 2 will cost Rs. 3,999 in Standard Edition.
