Apple Vision Pro Gets Immersive Films, TV Series

Apple has announced that Abel Tesfaye, commonly known as The Weeknd, will be launching an undisclosed “immersive experience” specifically for the Apple Vision Pro.

Introduced at last year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple Vision Pro, will now be compatible with new immersive video content. Starting this week, Apple Vision Pro customers will have unique access to new series and films filmed in Apple Immersive Video, as revealed by the firm on Thursday. Apple’s immersive video technology combines the use of 180-degree field of view 8K 3D video capture with spatial audio to provide a fully immersive experience. Recent rumors indicate that the tech giant located in Cupertino is currently developing updated iterations of the AR/VR gear.

Availability of Apple Vision Pro’s immersive video content

Apple Immersive video material will be available for no charge to Apple Vision Pro subscribers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, and Singapore via the Apple TV app. Chinese users will have the ability to view the same content via the Migu Video and Tencent Video applications.

The mixed reality headgear is now unavailable for purchase in India. It remains unclear whether customers who have bought it from countries such as the US would be able to access the new content via the Apple TV app.

Introducing the latest immersive video content available on the Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro subscribers may watch the new immersive film *Submerged*. This short film, specifically written for this medium, is set to release next autumn, though the firm has not provided a specific date. Edward Berger, an Academy Award winner, wrote and directed the movie, which is set during World War II.

Customers will have the opportunity to watch an engaging short film during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis. The video will include the historic NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge, starring Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry.

Additionally, Abel Tesfaye, widely known as The Weeknd, will be launching an undisclosed “immersive experience” exclusively on the platform at a later date this year. It might either be a music video or a live musical performance.

Apple Vision Pro offers more immersive video material, such as Red Bull: Big-Wave Surfing, which allows viewers to simulate the experience of ocean surfers. In addition to that, the content list includes ‘Elevated,’ a series that focuses on aerial travel, as well as recent episodes of Boundless and Wild Life. The latter refers to an engaging documentary that fully immerses viewers in the realm of wild-life, while the former is a tool that allows users to virtually explore and experience bizzare landscapes from various locations throughout the globe.
