Police Announce Crisis Response Simulation Exercise in Abuja

The Nigeria Police Force has scheduled a crisis response simulation exercise in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for Thursday, November 28, 2024. This initiative, planned in close partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Idu Train Station.

Announcing the exercise on Thursday, Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained its purpose. He emphasized that this initiative reflects the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the ability of security personnel to respond effectively to threats. Providing further details, Adejobi stated, “The Federal Government has launched a combined operation and training exercise to equip security personnel to react suitably and properly to security threats in Nigeria as part of efforts to combat all types of crimes and criminality in the country.”

Moreover, the police urged residents to remain calm during the exercise, which will involve loud explosion noises in a controlled environment. They reassured the public that the activity is safe and carefully planned to avoid any disruptions.

Additionally, the statement highlighted that this simulation is a critical part of the government’s strategy to evaluate and enhance the emergency response capabilities of Nigeria’s security agencies. To ensure smooth operations, residents were encouraged to cooperate fully with the authorities and adhere to all instructions provided during the event.
