Zenith Bank has once again kicked off the festive season with the grand Light-Up ceremony on Ajose Adeogun Street and Roundabout in Victoria Island, Lagos, which took place on Saturday, November 23.
The event, now in its 18th year, is part of the bank’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and transforms the area, home to Zenith Bank’s headquarters, into a stunning yuletide wonderland.
The ceremony, which was led by Zenith Bank’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Dame Adaora Umeoji, has become a recognized tourist attraction, drawing visitors from across the globe who come to enjoy the festive ambiance, take pictures, and celebrate the holiday season with friends and family.
During the event, Umeoji highlighted the significance of the Light-Up ceremony, stating, “Over the years, Zenith Bank has hosted this spectacular event, transforming Ajose Adeogun Street into a breathtaking yuletide wonderland. Our Christmas decorations have become a global attraction, celebrated and shared worldwide.” She further emphasized the spirit of Christmas, focusing on love, kindness, generosity, and respect for humanity.
Umeoji also thanked the Lagos State Government for its support and recognized Quantum Markets for their creativity and expertise in bringing the annual decorations to life. “Every year, they make it bigger and better, and we always look forward to it,” she said.
Zenith Bank’s commitment to its CSR and sustainability initiatives is evident through such community-driven projects, aiming to positively impact its host communities. The bank was recently awarded the “Most Sustainable Bank, Nigeria” at the 2023 and 2024 International Banker Banking Awards and recognized as the “Most Responsible Organization in Africa” at the SERAS Awards in 2021.
