CREDICORP Launches “S.C.A.L.E.” Programme to Boost Local Manufacturing and Trading
The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has introduced the S.C.A.L.E. (Securing Consumer Access for Local Enterprises) initiative to strengthen local industries by linking consumer credit directly to purchases from Nigerian vendors and manufacturers. This innovative program aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of expanding consumer credit access to improve living standards, reduce corruption, and energize local industries.
According to Uzoma Nwagba, CREDICORP’s Chief Executive, S.C.A.L.E. aims to boost demand for locally made products, stimulate industrial growth, and generate job opportunities.
“This programme links Nigerian consumers with trustworthy local manufacturers and vendors across key sectors, while providing accessible credit facilities to make these products affordable,” Nwagba stated.
Key highlights of the S.C.A.L.E. programme include:
- Target Beneficiaries: An initial one million Nigerians will access credit for locally manufactured goods and services.
- Focus Areas: Consumer credit will support sectors such as home improvement, furniture, appliances, and building materials, enabling households to enhance living standards.
- Participation for Vendors: Local manufacturers and vendors are encouraged to join by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the program’s official portal: www.credicorp.ng/scale.
CREDICORP aims to empower consumers and producers, fostering growth by promoting access to Nigerian-made products and driving value addition in key economic sectors.
The S.C.A.L.E. program promises to serve as a catalyst for industrial expansion, helping local enterprises thrive and making quality Nigerian products more accessible to consumers.
