The General Hospital in Badagry has received approval from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) to begin housemanship training for newly qualified doctors, marking a significant boost to healthcare services in the region.
This approval is expected to transform the hospital into a key healthcare hub, providing Badagry residents with access to high-quality medical care and skilled professionals.
Hon. Bonu Solomon, the lawmaker for Badagry Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, expressed his excitement, calling the development “great news” for the people of Badagry. He emphasized that this upgrade will provide the community with world-class medical facilities and trained personnel, addressing long-standing demands for improved healthcare services.
Hon. Solomon credited the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose efforts were instrumental in securing the approval. He noted that the timing of this upgrade and the approval for housemanship training aligns with the community’s urgent need for better medical services.
