Tems Breaks Record as Most Certified Nigerian Female Artist in the US

Tems continues to break records and solidify her position as the most certified Nigerian female artist in the United States. Her single “Found,” featuring Brent Faiyaz, has officially reached one million sales in the U.S., earning it an RIAA Platinum certification.

“Found” is part of her 2021 sophomore EP If Orange Was A Place, which showcased her versatility and musical depth. The track’s success was further propelled by her international breakthrough on Wizkid’s global hit “Essence”, which brought her to a wider audience and established her as a global force in music.

With over 119 million streams on Spotify, “Found” is one of the most-streamed tracks in her catalog. This new certification adds to her growing list of accomplishments, as she now holds three RIAA Platinum plaques—one for “Found”, another for her solo hit “Free Mind”, and a third for her contribution to Future’s “Wait For U”.

In addition to these accolades, Tems recently received RIAA Gold certifications for her Billboard Hot 100 charting song “Higher” and her EP For Broken Ears, making her the first Nigerian female artist to have an RIAA gold-certified album.

Tems joins an exclusive group of Nigerian artists with RIAA-certified projects, including Wizkid and Rema. Wizkid’s Made In Lagos and Rema’s debut album Raves & Roses have both earned RIAA Gold status, further highlighting the global impact of Nigerian music.
