Samsung ‘Slimmer’ Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung May Launch a ‘Slimmer’ Galaxy Z Fold 6 in October in Select Countries

Due to its limited launch, Samsung may restrict the manufacturing quantities of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to an estimated range of just 400,000 to 500,000 units.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 was unveiled worldwide on July 10 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Nevertheless, according to a new source, Samsung may continue to showcase more foldable smartphones later this year. Reports suggest that the South Korean technological giant is now working on a new version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which might be either a ‘Slim’ or a ‘Ultra’ variation. This new variant is expected to provide significant improvements compared to the previously released model.

The New Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

According to a claim by Allround-PC, Samsung’s next iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be named “Q6A”. There is speculation that it will feature a slimmer design and bigger screens. Reports indicate that confirming the smartphone as an ‘Ultra’ edition may include camera enhancements. The tech corporation is reportedly conducting software tests for a smartphone with the model number “SM-F958N” ahead of its release.

Nevertheless, there is a caveat. According to the source, Samsung intends to release the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 model in just two markets: China and South Korea. They are currently evaluating whether to offer it in more locations. The restricted release may also constrain manufacturing quantities, with an expected range of just 400,000 to 500,000 units. It is unclear whether the next smartphone will have comparable features as the current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is the company’s top-of-the-line folding device.

According to the source, this smartphone may potentially release in October. If this happens, its launch could coincide with the debut of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series, also anticipated in the same month. Reports suggest that Samsung plans to release only two models this year: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, with the tech giant reportedly skipping the normal model.

Samsung may introduce its first extended reality (XR) headset during the October event. However, developers anticipate having initial access to the headgear, with a potential public release expected in 2025.
