NVIDIA
NVIDIA might have the solution if you’ve ever needed an AI helper to make sure your computer is set up for the game you’re playing. The business is showcasing a new demo called G-Assist, an AI chatbot powered by GeForce that might perhaps aid lessen the more tiresome parts of gaming in the future.
G-Assist carries out a few crucial tasks related to setup as well as during gameplay. NVIDIA demonstrates it by responding to questions like “What’s the next early game weapon and where do I find the crafting materials for it” in an ARK: Survival Ascended demo. It responds by saying that the best one is a spear and explains how to construct one by gathering fibre, flint, and wood.
While some purists might consider that to be cheating, there appears to be another G-Assist tool that is less morally dubious. It is capable of performing tasks such as applying the highest quality graphics settings straight when you ask it to optimize settings for a game like Cyberpunk 2077. It can also do a system-wide analysis and suggest adjustments, such as increasing the refresh rate of your 4K monitor from 60Hz to 144Hz.
In an April Fool’s joke in 2017, NVIDIA claimed that the AI would play games in “Ghostplay” mode for you while you went to pay for a pizza at the door using the G-Assist name. Although it can’t do that, the new G-Assist might still be useful because it will remove the busy work required for system optimization. For now, it’s only a demonstration, but NVIDIA AI assist is actively recruiting developers who would like to know more about the project.
